Mathematics

Many majors at ÎçÒ¹AV require a year of calculus; with the addition of just a few more courses you can earn a Mathematics Minor. Majors in biology, chemistry, economics, and physics are especially encouraged to consider this option. The foundational training in mathematics offered by this minor will give students a deeper understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of their major discipline, and will equip them with critical thinking and technical communication skills that will prove invaluable in their pursuit of a STEM career.

Minor Requirements

  • One year of Calculus ( & )
  • Multivariable Calculus ()
  • One of the following three options:
    • Linear Algebra (Math 212) and Ordinary Differential Equations (Math 264)
    • Elementary Number Theory (Math 201) and Ordinary Differential Equations (Math 264)
    • Elementary Number Theory (Math 201) and Differential Equations and Linear Algebra (Math 266)
  • Any 300-level 3-credit Mathematics course

Note: 21 total credit hours
