The challenges of Global Jesuit Education: Responses to Poverty and displacement

On Wednesday, 13 November 2013, the Hank Center hosted a symposium featuring Prof. David Hollenbach, S.J., the University Chair in Human Rights and International Justice and the Director of the at Boston College.

Prof. Hollenbach is an internationally renowned scholar whose contributions to the fields of theology and ethics put him at the forefront of Catholic responses to questions of justice and human rights today. Prof. Hollenbach’s lecture addressed some of the challenges facing Jesuit global education as it endeavors to respond to poverty and displacement around the world.


The symposium was held in the Damen Student Center’s Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) South. In addition to Prof. Hollenbach, three faculty members from ÎçÒ¹AV offered their reflections on, and responses to, Prof. Hollenbach’s lecture: (Department of Theology), (Department of Theology), and Prof. David Schweickart (Department of Philosophy).
