Academics

Studying anthropology provides students with a broad foundation in the four subfields of the discipline and fosters a deep understanding of the remarkable diversity that characterizes humanity.

Students majoring in anthropology are provided a broad evolutionary comparative perspective of our complex and often fragmented world. Students can choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology or, if interested also in Sociology, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology and Anthropology.

There are no restrictions on course double-dipping for major and minor programs in Anthropology.  However, students may only earn a degree in Anthropology BA, Anthropology BS, or Sociology-Anthropology BA.
